This six hour session (excluding a lunch break) is perfect if you would like try your hand a millinery as I will guide you through the foundations of making a blocked hat, with a range of styles and shapes available. Basic materials for one hat are included, and you will have use of my tools and haberdashery supplies. I will speak to you in advance about the style of hat you would like to make, and so you can choose your preference of material and colour choice (availability dependent). Classes are held in my 1st floor studio in Sun Pier House in Chatham, Kent, ME4 4HF, which is accessed via stairs. Refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits will be on hand for you to enjoy. Lunch is not provided, but you're welcome to bring some along (there are microwave facilities) or there are numerous options in the local area. What Do I Need to Bring? - A metal thimble helps with blocking and sewing through often thick layers of millinery materials. - An apron, if you can, to help protect your clothes. A waterproof one is a bonus. But I can provide a fabric one if needed. - If you have specific materials and trims you'd like to use, feel free to bring them along, or pop me an email to ask about them. Payments: Once you've selected your preferred time, I'll be in touch to discuss what you would like to make and to confirm that it's been booked in. An invoice will be emailed to you and will be payable to confirm your booking. If you would prefer to split the payment in two, just ask, and a 50% deposit will be payable upon booking, with the balance due 14 days before the class takes place. Cancellations & Rescheduling: Please provide at least 14 days notice should you choose to cancel your class. As materials are ordered and prepared in advance of each class, refunds are unable to be given if less than 14 days notice is given. However I am more than happy to reschedule to another time.
